Austin Creed revealed that no top WWE executive contacted him after he ended his 16-year run with the company.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Creed was asked whether he talked to anyone in upper management after he and Kofi chose to leave WWE in May. Creed, now part of The New Level, said he didn’t even know who made the decision on the new terms offered to the pair.
“Honestly, I don’t know. I’m not sure. I don’t know who makes the decisions. We didn’t really have the conversation with anybody super high up.”
Asked whether there had been at least a phone call, a text, or a thank-you after their departure, Creed had one word.
“Nope.”
In the same interview, Kofi confirmed that WWE proposed a pay cut of more than 50% for the duo. Both said money was a factor, but the lack of opportunities to wrestle and a desire to be featured in a competitive tag division also played into the decision.
Despite how things ended, Kofi said he holds no resentment and remains grateful for everything he experienced in WWE.
