Kofi and Austin Creed pulled off one of the biggest surprises at AEW All In: London, debuting as The New Level alongside Swerve Strickland in the Trios Roulette Royale.
Speaking to TMZ Inside the Ring, Creed said he traveled in full disguise to avoid being recognized before the show.
“I just had a jacket on with a hood, and I had a durag on because of my braids, and a baseball hat with that, and then the little mask and sunglasses. We were good.”
Kofi took the same approach, though he admitted his outfit wasn’t exactly subtle for someone trying to stay under the radar.
“I was in similar attire, but different. I was also wearing sweatpants and a hoodie, but it was bright green, like Tiffany green or blue, whatever it was. I’m just like, ‘What am I doing?’ I’m supposed to be incognito, but I don’t do that very well at all.”
Nobody approached Kofi during the trip. The two also stayed at a hotel about 45 minutes from where everyone else was and arrived in London after most of the fans.
“Our hotel was also like 45 minutes away from where everybody else was staying. I think all the fans were already at Wembley and in that area. People had already come in. I think they had been in Europe the entire week, so we got there a little later than everybody else.”
The secret held until practically the last moment.
