Brie Bella Shares Bad News on Her WWE In-Ring Return

Brie Bella remains out of WWE action roughly two months after fracturing her scapula at SummerSlam on August 1, and she has confirmed that a return is not imminent.

On a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, the WWE Hall of Famer said she had another CT scan and that the results were sent to WWE.

“I just got back from my CT scan,” Brie said. “I tried to get information out of the doctor but they’re like, ‘No, we have to send this to WWE and then they’ll let you know. They wanted it ASAP so you might know something by the end of today or first thing next week.’ So fingers crossed that all is good.”

Although Brie said she feels strong, she still deals with spasms and sharp pain during some simple movements. She also avoids lifting anything over five pounds and continues to do physical therapy three times a week, working on basic exercises to strengthen the muscles around her scapula.

Even if the latest scan confirms her bones have fully healed, that will not mean she is cleared to return to the ring right away.

“Even if my bones have fused, it doesn’t mean I get to go back yet,” she said. “It’s a very long process when it comes to shoulder, scapula stuff. So it just means I get to take the next step to rehabbing.”

A few days after SummerSlam, Brie revealed that her scapula was fractured in three places. She opted against surgery and was given an initial recovery timeline of three to six months, depending on how the injury heals.

“I still think my days to be in-ring are still far, unfortunately,” Brie said. “I’m not the type of girl anymore who’s gonna rush things.”
