Corey Graves paid tribute to Benjamin Satterley, who died over the weekend at 40. Satterley wrestled as PAC in AEW and as Neville during his time in WWE.
Graves and Neville were closely linked in the early years of NXT. The two won the NXT Tag Team Championship together in July 2013, defeating Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
The partnership later ended, and the split led to a feud between them.
Graves reflected on their friendship in a social media post, saying Satterley had been by his side at several key moments in his career.
“It’s impossible to sum up what Ben has meant to me in a single post. I could tell stories for days.
Every major step of my career, he was there.
He was my friend. My tag team partner. My greatest rival.
The 1st match I ever called at WrestleMania was his.
The absolute best in the ring. Somehow even better outside of it.
My heart is with Ben’s incredible wife, family and his friends and fans all over the world.
Gravity forgot him. We never will.”
The match Graves referenced came at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, where Neville opened the Kickoff show by defeating Austin Aries to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Graves called the match alongside Tom Phillips.
Tributes to PAC will continue Wednesday, when AEW airs a special episode of Dynamite dedicated to his life and career. Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet is among the matches announced for the show.
