Britt Baker is back in AEW. After nearly two years away, the former AEW Women’s World Champion returned during the All In London Buy-In at Wembley Stadium, directly costing Maya World the TBS Championship.
Maya put the title on the line against Persephone. In the closing moments, a hooded figure appeared at ringside and shoved the champion off the top rope while the referee was distracted. Persephone capitalized with a crucifix bomb and scored the pinfall to capture the TBS Championship.
The bigger surprise came after the match. The hooded attacker laid out Maya World and locked in the Lockjaw, Britt Baker’s signature submission. Baker then pulled back the hood, revealing herself to the Wembley crowd and confirming her return.
Maya World’s reign ends at 35 days. She won the TBS Championship by defeating Hikaru Shida at AEW Redemption in July and made two successful defenses before losing the title.
Persephone captures the TBS Championship for the first time and now holds both that title and the CMLL World Women’s Championship.
Baker had not appeared on AEW programming since the November 13, 2024 episode of Dynamite, where she defeated Penelope Ford and was confronted by Serena Deeb. Her last appearance at Wembley also revolved around the TBS Championship, as she lost to Mercedes Moné in a title match at All In 2024.
