Britt Baker remains one of AEW‘s biggest mysteries. Off television since November 2024, when she defeated Penelope Ford on Dynamite, the former AEW Women’s World Champion is back in the spotlight after a strong statement from Mark Henry.
In an interview with ITR Wrestling, the WWE Hall of Famer said he doesn’t believe Baker will return to Tony Khan’s company. For Henry, the wrestler’s future may lie back in dentistry, especially because AEW’s women’s division is thriving without her.
“I think her future lies in dentistry. She is one that a lot of people had issues with, and I think the business right now, in AEW’s women’s division, is doing really well and doesn’t need to be disrupted. Let it exist the way it is right now. If she indeed comes back and conforms to whatever system she’s coming to, more power to you. But until I see that happen, I’m not going to believe it.” – H/T ITR Wrestling
The situation is curious because Baker has publicly indicated that her absence is not her decision. During AEW Revolution in March, she replied to a fan by simply saying that returning to TV “isn’t up to me.” Tony Khan, on the other hand, has said he hopes to see her back in AEW, but without giving any timeline.
Despite rumors of a possible departure, Fightful Select previously reported that people close to the situation denied Baker was trying to leave AEW. Her contract could still run until the end of 2026 or into 2027, depending on any potential extension for time missed due to injury.
Baker has also said she does not consider herself retired, although she no longer works as a full-time dentist due to issues with fans.
