Charlotte Flair revealed that despite being close with her father, Ric Flair, she doesn’t typically ask him for advice on her WWE performances.

In a recent interview with WFAN, the 14-time world champion said she came to better understand Ric’s connection to the wrestling business only after she started her own career. The two also grew closer through their time working together, particularly when the Nature Boy began managing her from 2015 to 2016.

Charlotte had this to say:

“I definitely understand my dad now more and why wrestling was his first love and how much it became a part of him. He is The Nature Boy day in and day out.

“It also allowed me to have a closer bond with him as well because when I first started, I don’t think he knew how to connect with me because it’s just something you have to go through, live through, work through. And then three years in when he became my manager, then it was game on.

“But I still don’t ask for his advice ’cause I’m like ‘Dad, you’re so freaking biased. Like tell me what I did wrong. He’s like ‘Honey, you can do nothing wrong.’ I’m like ‘You are not helping me at all.'”

Charlotte had previously pointed to authenticity as the best advice she ever got from Ric. According to her, he never tried to hide who he really is, in or out of the ring, something that has helped him stay popular across multiple generations.
