Rewatching the match, Punk said he couldn’t believe how young he looked at 34.
“I look at that 34 years old and I think that’s a lot older than I currently am right now.”
Punk also said he considers the match one of the best of his career, even though he feels it’s been overshadowed by his matches with John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
That night, Punk tried to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak. Even after using Paul Bearer’s urn in the closing moments, Punk fell to a Tombstone Piledriver as The Undertaker extended his streak to 21-0.
WrestleMania 29 also ended up being Punk’s last WrestleMania appearance for 12 years, until he returned to WrestleMania in 2025.
