CM Punk used the launch of a new action figure from his Straight Edge Society days in WWE to fuel speculation about a possible appearance in AAA.
In an interview with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, the current Undisputed WWE Champion directly tied the collectible to Worlds Collide, set for September 26, 2026, at the Allstate Arena in Chicago.
The event will bring together wrestlers from WWE, NXT and AAA, though no names have been officially announced yet.
Punk said:
“I think it’s super cool. I think it’s also really timely because our sister promotion, AAA, is branching out and they’re doing stuff. I think TripleMania is gonna be partly in Las Vegas this year. We just announced a show for them at the Allstate Arena. So it might be the perfect time for me to kind of dip my toe in the AAA pool. I’ve worn a mask before. I’ve gotten my head shaved in a mask versus hair match before. We can set the table and we can do it all over again in 2026.”
The possible appearance gained even more momentum during another panel at Comic-Con. When Rey Mysterio brought up Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship, Punk suggested facing Dominik in Chicago:
“They’ve got a show coming up in Chicago, don’t they? Does Dominik need an opponent? That’s fantasy booking.”
Punk’s memory of his old mask goes back to his 2010 feud with Rey Mysterio. Technically, the match at Over the Limit was a Straight Edge Society Pledge vs. Hair Match. After losing and having his head shaved, Punk started wearing the mask to hide his new look. It was pulled off by Big Show on the July 16, 2010, episode of SmackDown.
