There was serious concern for Steven Borden at AEW All Out on Saturday after his match came to a completely unexpected end. The pay-per-view took place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Borden teamed with current TNT Champion Darby Allin to face Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight of the Don Callis Family. The winners were guaranteed a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Late in the match, Borden took a very hard fall after an aerial move and stayed down in the ring. The referee quickly spotted the problem and called for the bell, ending the match by referee stoppage.
Fletcher and Knight were declared the winners as a result, earning the future shot at the tag team titles. Borden continued to receive medical attention while the broadcast avoided showing his condition in detail. As of this writing, AEW has not released an official diagnosis.

The match was easily one of the biggest tests of Borden’s young career. Allin pointed out on Wednesday’s Dynamite and Collision that his partner had wrestled only three matches. Fletcher and Knight used that exact point to taunt Borden ahead of All Out.
AEW had been building Borden alongside Allin since All In, where Borden and his father, Sting, helped Allin during his Falls Count Anywhere Match against Knight. Borden later won his televised in-ring debut as Allin’s tag team partner.
The focus now turns to an official update on Borden’s condition.
