Eddie Kingston Provides Health Update After Being Pulled From AEW TV

Eddie Kingston has been officially cleared to return to action following the health issue that forced him off last Saturday’s AEW Collision.

Kingston was scheduled to face Claudio Castagnoli in the Continental Challenge Cup quarterfinals, but Tony Khan announced on August 21 that he had not received medical clearance.

AEW had to reshuffle the tournament bracket, and Daniel Garcia ultimately filled Kingston’s spot against Castagnoli.

During CMLL’s media call on Thursday, Kingston confirmed that he has undergone testing, received clearance, and is feeling much better than he did last week.

“I feel good. I feel very good, honestly. I have training later tonight. I feel good. I know people were concerned because I had to be pulled from the Continental Cup, which hurt me because I don’t like Claudio and it would’ve been great to smack him around a little bit, but I feel 1,000 times better. It was a little bit of a scare with my health. I got checked; everything is good, and I got cleared. Once I was cleared, it was, ‘Alright, let’s get to work.’ I’ve been dying to get back to work.”

Kingston did not disclose the specific nature of his health issue. His return is already set for this Friday at Arena México, where he will challenge Hechicero for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.

Kingston last competed on the August 8 edition of AEW Collision, defeating Jake Doyle by submission with the Stretch Plum in the first round of the Continental Challenge Cup.
