4 Major Stars Who Could Take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship From Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns held onto the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after beating Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, but his situation on Monday Night RAW has gotten significantly more complicated in recent weeks.

On top of the tournament to determine his next challenger, LA Knight and Royce Keys have stepped directly into The Bloodline’s path, while Oba Femi is arguably riding the hottest streak of his WWE career.

Here are four names who could bring the OTC’s current reign to an end.

4 – Royce Keys

Royce Keys is probably the most unlikely name on this list, mostly because he’s still in the process of establishing himself in WWE.

That said, his return on the latest RAW changed the picture considerably. Keys showed up alongside Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, attacking The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight during the main event.

After already going to war with Jacob Fatu, Keys finds himself once again tangled up with names directly connected to Reigns. If WWE continues to build up his new alliance, a World Heavyweight Championship feud could be the logical next step.

    3 – LA Knight

LA Knight is the one name who doesn’t need a lengthy build to get to Roman Reigns.

On the August 17 RAW, Knight aligned with Solo Sikoa in an attack that laid out Reigns and The Usos. WWE continues to treat his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship as an active storyline, and the chase could lead to a match at Money in the Bank.

After years hovering near the top of the card, 2026 might finally be Knight’s moment to capture his first world title in the company.

      2 – Oba Femi

Oba Femi already has a claim that very few names on the roster can match right now. He has beaten Brock Lesnar twice in 2026.

The most recent win came at SummerSlam, inside Hell in a Cell, where Femi survived the bout and defeated The Beast once again. After the match, Lesnar himself declared that The Ruler represents the future of WWE.

Before that, Femi also defeated Jey Uso to win King of the Ring. His rivalry with Bron Breakker has now been positioned by WWE itself as a feud to determine who represents the company’s future.

If Femi gets past Breakker, putting him across the ring from Reigns would be a natural progression.

        1 – Penta

Right now, Penta is the closest to earning that opportunity.

After dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Chad Gable at SummerSlam, the luchador was immediately entered into the number one contender tournament for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Penta has already beaten Laredo Kid and La Parka, advancing to the final against Rey Fenix. The winner will face Roman Reigns when RAW arrives in Mexico City.

A win over the OTC might still feel like a big leap for Penta, but WWE has given him the shortest path of anyone on this list. If there’s
