Lacey Evans announces wrestling return after three years, motivated by her daughter, following WrestleCon appearance.
Lacey Evans, now going by her real name Macey Estrella, announced she will return to pro wrestling after nearly three years away from the ring. The former WWE Superstar shared the news in a video posted to her Instagram.
The wrestler said her recent appearance at WrestleCon during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas reignited her desire to compete. However, the main reason for her comeback involves her children.
“I will be returning to wrestling, I stepped out of the wrestling business for my children, and technically I’m stepping back in for my kids. My four-year-old was just looking around at this signing. She has seen me on TV and she just wants to see it live. What kind of mama would I be if I didn’t show her?”
Evans hasn’t wrestled since July 2023, when she faced Zelina Vega in a dark match on Friday Night SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Shortly after, in August of that year, she officially left WWE.
So far, there is no confirmation about which promotion will host her return, nor an official date for her first match.
In WWE, Evans competed on NXT, RAW and SmackDown, even challenging for the RAW Women’s Championship against names like Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. For now, her return will take place outside the Stamford-based company.
