Add as a preferred source on Google FTR appears to be nearing a return to AEW programming after nearly two months away. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler haven’t appeared on AEW television since May 24, when they dropped the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing.
Speaking on Fightful’s The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp said the team is at home, remains under contract, and is already part of the plans for London.
“They’re at home. They’ll be back soon. They’re planned to be in London. They’ve got bookings in London. Contract status—they’re under contract right now.”
The update pushes back on rumors of a possible departure from the company. Harwood and Wheeler remain on AEW’s official roster, and their time off television was a decision made so both could rest physically and mentally.
On June 20, Harwood explained that this marks the team’s first extended break in 12 years. He also revealed that he had been dealing with several physical issues, including injuries to his biceps, labrum, and shoulder.
Even before making their way back to AEW, the two already have confirmed dates on the calendar. FTR will face The Good Brothers on August 22 for Appalachian Mountain Wrestling, and The Young Guns on August 29 at RevPro’s anniversary show at OVO Arena Wembley.
That RevPro match will take place just one day before AEW All In: London, set for August 30 at Wembley Stadium. As of now, though, the team’s spot on the pay-per-view card still hasn’t been officially confirmed.
Harwood and Wheeler being in London strengthens the possibility of a return to AEW during All In weekend, though creative plans have yet to be revealed.
