Goldberg has once again opened up about one of the more difficult periods of his first WWE run.

In a recent interview with Going Ringside, the WWE Hall of Famer admitted that his arrival in the company in 2003 came under complicated circumstances because of his poor relationship with Triple H.

“It was different at the time, because he and I couldn’t stand each other. We were both represented by the same agent, and we had a confrontation prior to me going to the WWE, and then, oh, by the way, he was married to Vince McMahon’s daughter, so I mean it was kind of like me walking into an unwinnable situation, but I think business prevailed, and truthfully, at the end of the day, he’s a good guy.”

The comments stand out because Goldberg’s first WWE run was directly tied to Triple H. Before Unforgiven 2003, The Game was in the ninth month of his World Heavyweight Championship reign, following title defenses against Kane, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, and Rob Van Dam.

At that same event, Goldberg defeated Triple H after hitting a Spear and a Jackhammer, winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

Goldberg made his RAW debut on March 31, 2003, laying out The Rock with a Spear before beginning his climb to the top of the company.

Despite their history of issues, Goldberg made a point of downplaying the situation, saying business prevailed and that, at the end of the day, Triple H is “a good guy.”
