Add as a preferred source on Google Jay White ended a 481-day absence from singles competition on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Nashville, Tennessee. “Switchblade” defeated Clark Connors in his first singles match since March 2025.
The match was not easy for White, who found himself in trouble several times. In the closing moments, he reversed a Spear into a guillotine choke to win the match.
After the match, Connors attacked White but ended up on the receiving end of a Blade Runner. David Finlay then appeared and took White down with the shillelagh, before Juice Robinson and the Gunns ran to the ring for the save.
His previous singles match had come on the March 29, 2025 episode of AEW Collision, a win over Kevin Knight. He fractured his hand in that match, and during his recovery, he also underwent shoulder surgery, which further extended his time out of action.
At Forbidden Door on June 28, 2026, White made his return to AEW, helping Adam Copeland and Christian Cage retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Dogs.
His official in-ring return came four days later in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match, when he connected with the Blade Runner on Shawn Dean to pick up the win.
