Jey Uso’s latest King of the Ring win has once again sparked a negative reaction among WWE fans. This time, the backlash is aimed at the video from the latest SmackDown match, where Jey defeated LA Knight, Finn Bálor, and Royce Keys to advance to the tournament semifinals.
According to sites that estimate YouTube dislikes, the video currently sits at around 336,000 views, 10,600 likes, and 41,400 dislikes. The estimate, which is not officially displayed by YouTube, points to a 79.6% rejection rate.
The frustration is tied to the finish of the match. On Friday’s episode of SmackDown in Providence, Rhode Island, Solo Sikoa appeared in the closing moments and hit LA Knight with a Samoan Spike. That opened the door for Jey Uso to climb to the top rope and hit an Uso Splash for the win.
The issue, for a large portion of the audience, is that Knight was once again used as a stepping stone for a bigger story. The loss came in a tournament that will grant the winner a world title shot at SummerSlam.
With the win, Jey will face Je’Von Evans in the King of the Ring semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Oba Femi will face Dominik Mysterio, with the final set for Night of Champions.
