Add as a preferred source on Google Joe Gacy says the Wyatt Sicks concept was being discussed within WWE before Bray Wyatt’s death, with Wyatt supposed to lead the faction.
The version that reached television debuted on the June 17, 2024 Raw, nearly 10 months after Wyatt died at 36. Bo Dallas returned as Uncle Howdy and led Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis and Nikki Cross.
Speaking with The FiveMarks, Gacy said he had heard rumblings about the idea before WWE ever approached him. He also believed Wyatt would have occupied the role later filled by Dallas.
“I know there was always an idea for the Wyatt Sicks group, because I had heard rumblings about it before I was ever even approached about it…
I think the idea was that obviously Bray was going to be the leader at the time.”
Gacy’s account lines up with what Dallas said in October 2024. Dallas told USA Today that Wyatt hand-picked every member because he wanted to work with them, adding that the group’s creative either came from Wyatt directly or carried part of one of his ideas.
All five members left WWE on April 24. Gacy and Lumis had held the WWE Tag Team Championship before dropping the titles to Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga in January.
Now using Joseph Sawyer, Gacy returned to the ring at Wrestling REVOLVER on July 24, beating Rich Swann and paying tribute to Wyatt.
