Add as a preferred source on Google Will Ospreay has responded after AEW World Champion Kenny Omega turned on him in the closing moments of Redemption at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Omega had just beaten Kevin Knight to retain the AEW World Championship in his first defense when the Death Riders attacked. Jon Moxley tried to force Ospreay into using a plastic bag on the champion. Ospreay tore the bag apart instead, dropped Moxley with a right hand, and cleared the rest of the group from the ring.
Ospreay also ripped the Death Riders emblem off his gear, ending his short run with the group. He then handed the title belt back to Omega and shook his hand as both men celebrated in the corners of the ring.
But just as things looked headed for a friendly ending, Omega blindsided Ospreay with a One Winged Angel. Matt and Nick Jackson initially questioned the move, but ultimately sided with the champion, leaving Ospreay laid out in the ring.
In an exclusive video AEW posted after the pay-per-view, Ospreay had a simple response: “Game on!”
The AEW World Championship match between the two is already set for All In London on August 30, 2026, at Wembley Stadium.
The turn completely reshapes the picture heading into London. Beyond ending Ospreay’s ties to the Death Riders, Omega’s attack turns their third match into a personal rivalry.
