Konosuke Takeshita is back on top. At AEW Double or Nothing, held this Sunday in Queens, New York, the Japanese star defeated Kazuchika Okada to capture the AEW International Championship.

The rivalry carried a major behind-the-scenes element, as Okada and Takeshita are both part of the Don Callis Family, though tension between the two had clearly been building in recent weeks.

In one of the match’s tensest moments, Don Callis had to intervene to stop Okada from hitting a move that could have ended Takeshita’s career.

In the end, Takeshita survived the Rainmaker, hit the Power Drive Knee, and followed up with Raging Fire to secure the win over Okada.

The celebration, however, did not last long. Kyle Fletcher appeared after the match, hugged Takeshita, and seemed ready to acknowledge his accomplishment, only to attack the new champion in front of the rest of the Don Callis Family.

With the win, Takeshita begins his second reign as AEW International Champion.
