Mick Foley, who cut ties with WWE in December 2025 over the company’s closeness to the Trump administration, made his AEW debut on Sunday night (May 24) during the Double or Nothing Buy In at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

The WWE Hall of Famer co-hosted the pre-show alongside Renee Paquette. Tony Khan confirmed during the broadcast that Foley was officially “All Elite.”

While discussing the night’s main event, the Title vs. Hair match between Darby Allin and MJF for the AEW World Championship, Foley was interrupted by MJF himself, who came to the ring to confront him.

The former AEW World Champion mocked the “Hardcore Legend,” saying every major moment of Foley’s career ended in defeat.

Foley admitted he had lost plenty of matches, but pointed out that a young man named Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson might remember a few of his wins, referencing his two WWF Championship victories over The Rock in late 1998 and early 1999.

The mention of The Rock drew a loud wave of boos from the crowd inside the arena. The reaction was apparently tied to Johnson’s connection to WWE and TKO, as he has held a seat on the company’s board of directors since January 2024.

The company has faced criticism in recent weeks due to a wave of talent releases and requests for salary reductions.

Foley continued to take shots at MJF, saying his wavy hair would soon be “waving goodbye” after a potential loss to Allin. MJF responded with a low blow, but Allin rushed to the ring to make the save.
