Lita isn’t ready to call her WWE in-ring career finished just yet. The Hall of Famer remains open to one final run with the company, especially given how abruptly her most recent stint came to an end.
Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Lita said she initially viewed her WrestleMania 39 appearance as a fitting sendoff. That changed, though, once she saw how she was written off television.
“I had this really fun, celebratory match at WrestleMania and then the next thing I know, they’re like, ‘Oh, by the way, you’re just gonna be laying on the ground and we don’t need you anymore’ and I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ So, it felt complete and then it didn’t.”
Lita’s last match took place on April 1, 2023, at WrestleMania 39, where she teamed with Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus to defeat Damage CTRL’s Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai. Just weeks earlier, on February 27, 2023, she and Lynch had captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
On the April 10, 2023 episode of Raw, Lita was found laid out backstage following a mystery attack. Trish Stratus replaced her in the tag title defense against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, with Lynch and Stratus losing the championships. Stratus was ultimately revealed as the attacker, and Lita never returned to the storyline.
Now 51, Lita said she still feels good physically and wouldn’t close the door on a comeback if WWE came to her with the right opportunity.
“Am I still satisfied with all I’ve accomplished and even just the stuff I’ve been able to do post-full-time run? Absolutely. But, I wouldn’t rule it out if the right opportunity came, because I still feel really good and there’s so much talent out there.”
Despite the recent buzz surrounding a potential farewell tour, there has been no confirmation of any deal, dates, or concrete plans from WWE as of this writing.
