Add as a preferred source on Google AEW has just announced a major match for this Wednesday’s three-hour AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision special on May 27 at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
On his official X account, Tony Khan confirmed that Kris Statlander will face Hikaru Shida in a Lights Out Philly Street Fight. The show will air at 8 p.m. ET on TBS and HBO Max.
The match comes just days after AEW Double or Nothing, where Thekla retained the AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way match against Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Kris Statlander.
The rivalry marks a major shift in the relationship between the two. Just a few weeks ago, Shida and Statlander were still teaming together and even challenged Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, although AEW itself had already raised questions about whether they were truly on the same page.
