JetSpeed came to an end during Wednesday’s three-hour AEW Dynamite and Collision special from the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.

Kevin Knight, the reigning AEW TNT Champion, went to the ring to explain his attack on Darby Allin at the end of Double or Nothing. After Allin lost the AEW World Championship to MJF, Knight hit the former champion with a UFO Splash while he was still strapped to a stretcher.

During the promo, Knight said he should have been in the pay-per-view’s main event, pointing out that he was the last wrestler to defeat MJF. That win came on the April 29 episode of AEW Dynamite, when Knight retained the TNT Championship.

Mike Bailey then came out to try to calm his partner down. “Speedball” said Knight’s ambition is both his greatest strength and his biggest flaw, adding that the attack on Allin could still be fixed with an apology.

Knight, however, refused any reconciliation and attacked Bailey, officially bringing JetSpeed to an end.

Later in the night, Bailey appeared backstage and said Knight had made his choice before challenging him to a match.

With that, Knight begins a new phase as a heel, while Bailey becomes the first target of that new direction.
