Adam Copeland and Christian Cage captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship in the opening match of Double or Nothing on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

Their match against FTR, the team of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, was a New York Street Fight “I Quit” Match. The stipulation also put the future of Copeland and Cage’s team on the line, as they would no longer be allowed to wrestle together if they lost.

The decisive moment came with the return of Beth Copeland, who appeared to neutralize Stokely Hathaway and prevent another interference attempt.

Beth’s involvement closed the loop on an angle that began at All Out 2025 in Toronto. On that night, she showed up to stop Stokely, only to be hit with a Spike Piledriver by FTR.

The rivalry continued at Dynasty in Vancouver, where FTR retained the titles against Copeland and Cage.

With the win, Copeland and Cage captured their first AEW tag team titles and added another chapter to a historic partnership that had already produced seven tag team title reigns in WWE.
