MVP once again took aim at Triple H while explaining why he and Bobby Lashley decided not to renew their WWE contracts.

Speaking on a recent edition of Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze, the former United States Champion said he tried several times to speak with WWE’s creative chief, but never received a proper response.

“I don’t like Triple H. I think he’s a coward and a liar. There were several times I tried to talk to him, and he always said, ‘We’ll talk in a bit.’

Bobby couldn’t get through to Triple H on the phone. Triple H wouldn’t give Bobby any one-on-one time. Bobby wanted to talk to Triple H about, ‘Hey, what’s my path? What am I doing here?’ But Triple H always had something come up.

So I told Bobby while we were in the dining room, ‘Bro, I’m not renewing. Neither are you. You, me, and Shelton should go to AEW. Let’s go!’

I kept urging Bobby every week, ‘Bobby, come on, bro! Let’s find Shelton and cross the street.’ It got to the point where Bobby said, ‘Yeah, you’re right. There’s no future for us here.’

So my contract ended. Bobby’s contract ended too. We decided not to renew. Contrary to what some might say, it was Our decision.”

MVP, Lashley and Benjamin later reunited in AEW as The Hurt Syndicate, continuing the group that had found success in WWE as The Hurt Business. In Tony Khan’s company, Lashley and Benjamin went on to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship in January 2025, with MVP by their side.

MVP had previously said he has “zero respect” for Triple H.
