Jack Perry’s future with AEW became a talking point again this week, especially after new reports indicated that he had not yet re-signed with the company.

During Thursday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call, Tony Khan was asked about Perry’s situation and made it clear that AEW’s plan is to keep him around for a long time.

“The plan for AEW and Jack is for Jack to be here for a long time. I have believed that Jack is a great wrestler for many years and I continue to feel that way. I like Jack very much, personally. He has a very bright future in wrestling and a great mind for wrestling. It’s been really gratifying for me and fans (to see) the return of Jungle Jack Perry and seeing fans embrace Jack and the great matches he’s been having. The plan is for Jack Perry to be in AEW for a long time, so that’s going to happen.”

The situation stands out because Perry is one of AEW’s originals, having been tied to the company since its early years. He is also a former TNT Champion, with a title reign that began at Forbidden Door 2024 and ended at Full Gear later that year.

In recent months, Perry returned as “Jungle” Jack Perry. At Double or Nothing this year, he teamed with Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, and the Hurt Syndicate in a Stadium Stampede Match, defeating The Demand, The Dogs, and the Don Callis Family.

On the final episode of AEW Dynamite before Forbidden Door, Perry also faced Zack Sabre Jr.
