Jack Perry’s future with AEW remains uncertain, even with the expectation that the two sides will eventually reach an agreement on a new deal.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Perry had not signed a new contract with the company as of last week. Alvarez noted that the situation may have changed in recent hours, but said he believes Perry remains unsigned.

“As of last week, he was not. It’s possible he signed today, but I think he’s still unsigned.”

The first update on the situation already indicated that Perry’s contract was close to expiring and that he was negotiating to stay with AEW. At the time, Alvarez also said he expected Perry to re-sign, though nothing was guaranteed.

“Jack Perry is … negotiating a deal [with AEW]. His deal is up, I was told, at any moment. And he had not yet signed as of yesterday. So I presume he will re-sign, but I suppose anything is possible.”

Perry is one of AEW’s longest-tenured names, having been with the company since its launch in 2019. In recent months, he has gained renewed focus alongside The Elite and captured the AEW National Championship in March at Revolution before losing the title to Mark Davis on May 9.

Despite the contract uncertainty, Perry continues to be used regularly by AEW. On this week’s Dynamite, he faced Zack Sabre Jr. and lost by submission in a match used to further build the rivalry between ZSJ and Kenny Omega ahead of Forbidden Door.

As of now, neither Perry nor AEW has publicly commented on the situation. The expectation, however, remains that he will stay with Tony Khan’s company.
