Matt Cardona has suffered a significant arm injury that is expected to keep him out of action for an extended period. Cardona confirmed the injury on Saturday, August 22, via social media.
Cardona revealed that he tore his triceps during a match on Friday, August 21, prior to the WWE SmackDown broadcast. That night’s show emanated from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.
Cardona posted a photo of his visibly swollen arm along with a message:
“I wish my arm was this jacked. Unfortunately, it’s just swollen because I tore my tricep in a match on Friday night. (I still went to the gym today and did legs) I’ll keep you updated. I’M NOT FINISHED.”
Cardona has not yet disclosed who he was wrestling when the injury occurred, whether surgery will be required, or how long he expects to be sidelined.
His last televised match came on the August 14 SmackDown in Boston, Massachusetts. Cardona got involved after Gunther provoked his wife, Chelsea Green, and a match was made on the spot. Gunther won via submission with the Boston Crab.
This is not the first major arm injury for Cardona. In 2022, he tore his biceps during a match against Blake Christian in GCW.
