Matt Hardy reacted to Tommy Dreamer’s TNA exit after the veteran announced on Busted Open Radio that he had left the company in a mutual decision with Carlos Silva.

Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the current TNA star said he did not know about the move before it became public, calling the news a surprise.

“It’s interesting. It’s intriguing. I certainly enjoyed working with Tommy. I enjoyed working with Tommy all the way back to the House Of Hardcore days, whenever he was doing that show. I always thought he had a good pulse on kind of where pro wrestling, where it is, and where it’s going. He stayed pretty current with things but things change. I got lots of love for Tommy, no doubt about it. I loved working with Tommy. Really enjoyed working with Tommy, and very interesting to see what happens next at TNA. I think [his reputation] has been a little unfair, no doubt. I had said that earlier today. I said him and Delirious, quite overworked. They’re very busy because they’re the only two guys doing that. But I think he has done a lot of good for TNA and I’m very curious to hear the motivation behind why he is stepping away.”

With Dreamer gone, Delirious is expected to take over as TNA’s lead creative voice, though there is a possibility that new names could be added to the department.

Road Dogg was also discussed internally as an option.

The change comes just days before Slammiversary, which will take place on June 28 in Boston, with Mike Santana defending the TNA World Championship against Nic Nemeth.
