Tony Khan made it clear that if Mick Foley ever decides to wrestle again, he would like it to happen in AEW.
Khan made the comment during the AEW Double or Nothing media call, just days after the company confirmed Foley as a co-host of the Buy-In alongside Renee Paquette. The pre-show will air for free ahead of this Sunday’s pay-per-view on May 24.
According to Fightful’s transcript, Khan said Foley will bring knowledge backstage and to the broadcast, but he avoided putting any pressure on the WWE Hall of Famer about a potential return to the ring.
“I can’t speak for Mick Foley as to whether he’d want to wrestle or if he’s going to wrestle anytime soon but if he ever does, I would love for him to do it in AEW.”

The AEW president also stressed that he would only make that kind of offer if Foley felt physically ready, pointing to the major physical toll Foley took throughout his career.
Foley has not wrestled since the 2012 Royal Rumble, where he took part in the main match won by Sheamus. In 2024, he commented on the possibility of having one last match against MJF, but the idea never moved forward.
Before that, Jon Alba of The Takedown had reported that AEW had “real” interest in working with Foley this year, with no word on whether it would involve a contract or a one-off appearance.
For now, Foley is only confirmed for the Double or Nothing Buy-In. The event will feature Darby Allin defending the AEW World Championship against MJF in a Hair vs. Title Match.
