The MJF-Andrade El Idolo rivalry took another turn on Sunday after the reigning AEW National Champion announced he’s injured and will be sidelined indefinitely.
Andrade said he hadn’t been feeling right since AEW Grand Slam Mexico on August 5 but still worked two dates for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling in Canada before heading back to Miami to get checked out.
He has not disclosed a diagnosis or a timetable for his return.
Shortly after the post went up, MJF fired back with a taunt, suggesting he was the one who put Andrade on the shelf.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA
How you know?
OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!”
MJF also shared an image of his post-match attack on Andrade at Grand Slam Mexico. Andrade had just beaten Tommaso Ciampa and Komander to earn the number one entry in the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In.
Following the bout, MJF attacked Andrade with his old custom AEW World Championship belt, reclaimed the Dynamite Diamond Ring, and struck him again. Medical staff rushed in immediately to tend to Andrade.
That said, there has been no confirmation that Andrade’s injury was actually caused by the attack.
