MJF has been pulled from an event after suffering an injury on AEW Dynamite.
MJF will no longer appear at Beyond Wrestling’s Break The Walls Down event, which is scheduled for Friday, June 5, in Cranston, Rhode Island.
The promotion announced that the reigning AEW World Champion hyperextended his knee during his match against Rush on last night’s AEW Dynamite and was not medically cleared to travel or compete. As a result, he is off the show at Rhodes On The Pawtuxet.
Friedman had been scheduled to face Bobby Orlando in a special appearance on the independent scene. The event is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET and stream on IWTV, with tickets still available between $35 and $45.

On this week’s Dynamite, MJF retained the AEW World Championship against Rush in a No Count Out Match. Despite the win, the bout was highly physical and left the champion sidelined, at least for this immediate booking.
The key point is that Beyond Wrestling said MJF assured the promotion that he still intends to wrestle for them as soon as his schedule allows. In other words, his appearance is being treated as postponed rather than permanently canceled.
As of now, there is no official timetable for MJF’s return to the ring. It is also unknown whether the injury will affect AEW’s upcoming plans for the world champion.
