Paul Wight could get physical again in AEW tonight. The former Big Show said during an appearance on Good Day Live that he will be in the ring during AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, but he did not reveal exactly what he will be doing.
Wednesday’s special will take place at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater, Florida. The show will feature MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega in a match where Omega will never be able to challenge for the title again if he loses.
“We have MJF, who is a very popular talent. He was in an Adam Sandler movie. He’s a bad guy. Not many people like him. He’s a little bit mouthy. Taking on Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship. We’ve got another local. Chris Jericho will be competing. We’ve got (Konosuke) Takeshita versus Kyle Fletcher. So there’s a lot of great AEW talent. So good night of wrestling. Good night of entertainment. And it’s also cost effective. It’s where you get more bang for your buck. So you’re going to be able on TV if you get there. Great live event, and also I’m going to be in the ring doing something. I can’t tell you what, because it’s a big secret. But if you come, you will see me maybe slap some people around.”
Along with the main event, Konosuke Takeshita will defend the AEW International Championship against Kyle Fletcher in another chapter of the Don Callis Family rivalry. The show will also include a Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match to determine the next challenger for Thekla’s AEW Women’s World Championship at Redemption on July 26.
Wight has not wrestled regularly for AEW in quite some time. His last major physical appearance came at Full Gear in 2025, when he interfered during the match involving QT Marshall and Big Boom AJ. Before that, his last televised match for the company took place in November 2023, when he teamed with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi in a Street Fight against the Don Callis Family.
It remains to be seen whether Wight’s appearance will be a special segment for the local crowd or if AEW has something more direct planned for one of the Beach Break rivalries.
