Kenny Omega returned to the top of AEW on one of the biggest nights of his career. At Dynamite: Beach Break, Omega defeated MJF for the AEW World Championship in a match with the stipulation that a loss would mean never getting another shot at the title again.

After the show, in a video posted to AEW‘s X account, Omega made clear he plans to carry his new reign with the same mindset that defined his win.

“No matter how hard everything is, you FINISH THE RACE!”

The week before, MJF put Omega on the spot after retaining the title against Mark Briscoe, demanding he agree to the stipulation that he’d never get another title opportunity if he came up short.

In the match, MJF once again turned to the shortcuts that have defined his reign. Omega survived a low blow and a shot with the title belt itself, while Will Ospreay stopped him from using the Dynamite Diamond Ring. After that, Omega hit three V-Triggers and the One-Winged Angel to put MJF away.

This marks the second time Omega has won the AEW World Championship. His first reign lasted 346 days, from December 2, 2020, to November 13, 2021, which was the longest in the title’s history at the time.

The new reign also reshapes the company’s plans for the coming months. Ospreay already has an AEW World Championship opportunity locked in at All In: London, and Omega’s win puts the two on a collision course for one of the most anticipated matches of the year.
