Bianca Belair has provided a new update on the severe finger injury that has kept her out of WWE action since WrestleMania 41.
During a Q&A session posted to her Instagram Stories this Saturday, July 18, Belair was asked about the current state of the finger. The former champion responded with only a photo, in which her ring finger joint still appears visibly swollen.
The injury occurred during a Triple Threat match against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, when Ripley landed on her hand while performing a German suplex. Belair broke her finger in three places, including the joint, and she wasn’t able to bend it without risking another fracture.

The issue was initially expected to sideline her for just a few weeks. However, ten months after the injury — following eight months of physical therapy and consultations with five doctors — Belair had to undergo surgery in February 2026.
In May, Belair herself revealed that she had lost part of the joint and that the damage couldn’t be fully corrected.
“I broke my finger—I broke my knuckle, and I have joint damage. I lost a portion of my joint, which can’t be fixed. It still won’t bend to this day. I’ve sacrificed enough, and I’m just ready to have a baby.”
The injury also changed the size of her finger. Belair said her ring size went from a 7.5 to a 10, even saying her ring finger had become bigger than her thumb.
Despite that, there’s been some recent progress. In June, Belair posted a video showing that she was already able to partially bend the finger during physical therapy.
Belair is also pregnant with her first child with Montez Ford, news that was announced at WrestleMania 42. As of now, there’s no timetable for her return to WWE.
