Today’s WWE RAW is expected to close with a high-stakes match carrying major implications for the World Heavyweight Championship picture.
According to TRNBCKL, Penta vs. La Parka is listed as the main event on the preliminary rundown for the show. The lineup order could still change before or even during the broadcast.
The bout is a semifinal in the tournament to determine the next challenger for Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship. The winner will advance to face either Dragon Lee or Rey Fenix, who meet in the other semifinal on the same show.
Penta earned his spot by defeating Laredo Kid on the August 10 RAW. La Parka advanced by beating Psycho Clown on the August 15 AAA show. The tournament final is set for the August 31 RAW.
The tournament winner will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 RAW in Mexico City.
Beyond the two semifinals, Stephanie Vaquer is set to face Roxanne Perez, while Oba Femi and Bron Breakker will take part in a contract signing for Sunday Night’s Main Event.
RAW airs from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, with a special start time of 6 PM ET/3 PM PT on Netflix.
