Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins could close out WWE SummerSlam 2026, which will take place on Aug. 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Although WWE has yet to officially announce how the full card will be split across the two nights, the backstage expectation is that the World Heavyweight Championship match will headline Sunday’s show.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match between the former Shield members is viewed as the main event of Night 2.
“Right now, nothing has been announced for which night, although the belief is that Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the world title would be the Sunday main event.”
The report lines up with WWE’s events page, which listed Reigns vs. Rollins as a featured match for Aug. 2. That would make CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes, with the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line, the leading candidate to close out Night 1.
The SummerSlam card also includes Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match, along with several other major matches.
Reigns and Rollins have not faced each other in a singles match since Royal Rumble 2022.
