Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks’ top star, is set to be at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday, July 18, at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event will mark the special’s return to the arena after almost two decades.
In a social media post, WWE confirmed that the reigning NBA Finals MVP had accepted Roman Reigns’ invitation:
“BREAKING: @jalenbrunson1 has accepted @WWERomanReigns’ invitation to #SNME at @TheGarden, this Saturday at 8pm ET / 5pm PT live on @peacock!”

The confirmation comes just days after WrestleVotes Radio reported that several Knicks players had been invited to the show. WWE had reportedly discussed creative ideas involving Brunson and Danhausen, but any physical involvement was ruled out due to surgery the athlete underwent on his left wrist on July 7.
It’s still unclear whether Brunson will take part in a segment during the broadcast or simply watch the event from the front row.
This won’t be his first WWE appearance. In June 2024, also at Madison Square Garden, Brunson entered the ring with a steel chair and stood alongside LA Knight during a confrontation with Logan Paul and Tyrese Haliburton.
The connection with Reigns has also been building for months. Brunson revealed that he “acknowledges” the Tribal Chief before every game, and after winning the NBA title with the Knicks, he received a custom title belt autographed by the current World Heavyweight Champion.
