Thekla is back in the AEW Women’s World Championship picture. She defeated Willow Nightingale tonight at All Out in Chicago to earn a title shot against Mercedes Moné at WrestleDream.
The match was closely contested until the closing stretch, when the Sisters of Sin team of Julia Hart and Skye Blue played a decisive role. Their interference gave Thekla the opening to take control, hit Nightingale with a stomp and pin her for the win.
With the victory, Thekla officially became Moné’s next challenger.

Moné had originally been scheduled to wrestle at All Out but was not medically cleared because of the broken nose she suffered at All In: London on August 30. At that show, Moné defeated Nightingale to win the AEW Women’s World Championship.
The win also gave Thekla a significant measure of revenge. She lost the AEW Women’s World Championship to Nightingale at Redemption on July 26. Thekla had held the top spot in AEW’s women’s division earlier this year.
WrestleDream is set for Saturday, October 17, at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
