Penta is confirmed to return to AAA programming on August 15, 2026, just a few weeks after defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
Rey Mysterio made the announcement during his traditional press conference at Verano de Escándalo. The show will take place at Torreón’s Coliseo Centenario, with a start time of 7 p.m. CT.
No match has been made official, but Mysterio made clear that Penta’s involvement will be tied directly to Perros del Mal.
The group’s new lineup features Daga, Karmen Petrovic, Bronco Nima, Angel and Berto. The stable returned to AAA in June, attacking El Grande Americano, and has positioned itself as one of AAA’s biggest threats ever since.
Penta’s ties to the group go back further, though. During his first run in AAA, when he still wrestled under the name Pentagon Jr., Penta was one of the most important members of Perros del Mal.
In January 2017, Penta, Daga and Garza Jr. left AAA at nearly the same time. The three even showed up at an event for The Crash wearing Perros del Mal gear, before Penta gave up the Pentagon Jr. name for good.
Before he returns to AAA, Penta will put his title on the line against Chad Gable at SummerSlam, which takes place Aug. 1-2 in Minneapolis.
