Add as a preferred source on Google Ric Flair recently believed he had been invited back to The Joe Rogan Experience, but the invitation turned out to be a scam.
The situation was revealed during episode #2514 of the show, featuring Cameron Hanes, when Joe Rogan explained that someone contacted Flair while pretending to represent the podcast. The idea was to convince him that he would be paid to appear on the show.
“I got to apologize to Ric Flair. He got scammed,” Rogan said. “So some person reached out and said that they were representing this podcast and he was going to come on the podcast. I think Tim Dillon, this happened with him too. It didn’t happen with him where they got him, but they send you an email saying that they’re going to have you come on a podcast but they need your bank information…
“If you get an email like that from me, it’s not real. Sorry, Ric Flair. I don’t know if he lost his money.”
The scam works in a simple way. The fake invitation offers payment for an appearance, but asks for banking information to supposedly make the deposit. According to Rogan, the real goal is to empty the victim’s account.
Flair did appear on The Joe Rogan Experience in April 2023, on episode #1974, which ran nearly three hours. As of now, however, there is no confirmation that he lost money in the scam.
