WWE RAW isn’t the same without Roman Reigns, Dave Meltzer says.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio with Bryan Alvarez, Meltzer discussed the September 7 episode and how Reigns’ absence affected the show.

Meltzer called the current World Heavyweight Champion’s absence a problem for the show.

Reigns didn’t appear on this week’s RAW, but WWE kept his upcoming title defense front and center. Penta appeared in a video addressing the champion ahead of their match.

The rivalry picked up on August 31, when Penta defeated Rey Fenix in the final of the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament. After the win, Reigns came out and went face to face with his new challenger.

Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta on the September 14 episode of RAW at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

Reigns has held the World Heavyweight Championship since April 19, when he defeated CM Punk on night two of WrestleMania 42. The match with Penta will be the latest in a stretch of sporadic RAW appearances for the champion in recent months.
