Roman Reigns took a more aggressive tone ahead of his World Heavyweight Championship defense against Penta on next week’s WWE RAW, set for September 14 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
He tied the match to The Bloodline’s recent troubles, saying he would use Penta to send a message to the rest of the roster.
In a video posted to his X account, Reigns discussed the situation within his family and expressed frustration with Royce Keys and OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price), who have been getting in the way of The Usos and Jacob Fatu.
“We’ve just been trying to represent. That’s all we really want to do, is represent our family, the first family, the only family that matters in this business. And we can’t even do that. I wanted to have a good tournament. I wanted to go to Mexico City, and I wanted to showcase something special. But Royce Keys and his boys seem to not agree with any of that. They want to ruin all of that.”
Reigns also directed some of his criticism at Jacob Fatu. While he acknowledged that Fatu takes the threat seriously, the Tribal Chief made it clear that he expects everyone in the family to live up to the same standard of excellence he sets for himself.
“And Jacob, he seems to think this is very serious, but none of you are on my level. And if my family doesn’t understand that, if they don’t hold themselves to that standard, then we have a huge problem here.”
Reigns then said he respects Penta and his family, but warned that the mounting pressure on The Bloodline had made their match in Mexico City about something bigger.
“I’ve told you this before, Penta. I like you. I respect you. I respect your family and where you come from and what you represent. But the walls are closing down on me and my family, and people don’t want us in charge anymore. So it’s not gonna be fun. Not for you. The crowd, they may love it. I’m gonna enjoy myself. But you are a message to the rest of the locker room. Penta, I’m gonna throw your little ass all over that ring. I’m gonna slam you through it, and then hopefully, everyone will understand just how serious this can be.”
Reigns closed with a warning to anyone looking to stand in The Bloodline’s way.
“Don’t mess with the Bloodline. Don’t disrespect us. Because if you do, it’s not going well for you. Happy Labor Day.”
The tensions Reigns referenced escalated on the August 31 episode of RAW. Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price attacked Jimmy and Jey Uso in the parking lot, leaving both men bloodied. Jacob Fatu appeared later and declared war on the trio.
