Penta will have a chance to win a world title in front of Mexican fans. After beating Rey Fenix in the tournament final, he’ll face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on September 14 in Mexico City.
WWE has good reason to keep the title on Reigns, especially with other challengers already lining up behind him. Still, a Penta win in his home country would justify a change of plans. These three finishes would take RAW in different directions.
1 – Roman Reigns wins clean after surviving Penta
A clean Reigns win looks like the most likely outcome. On September 7, LA Knight asked Adam Pearce for the next title opportunity after the Mexico City show, giving WWE another possible challenger.
Penta could deliver an even match, come close to winning with the Penta Driver, and end up caught by a decisive Spear.
How it happens would be key. Penta needs room to attack and a real shot at winning. A quick loss would waste the tournament build-up and leave Mexican fans with little reason to believe in future title shots.
2 – The Bloodline helps Reigns keep the title
Reigns has already shown he’s willing to attack a distracted opponent. On August 31, he caught Knight with a Superman Punch while Knight was checking on Solo Sikoa, who had just been attacked.
That approach could repeat itself in the title defense. With the referee distracted, a Bloodline member could pull Penta off the ropes, setting up a Spear for Reigns to win by pinfall.
The finish would give Penta a case for a rematch and deepen fans’ dislike of Reigns. But WWE would need to follow through on the story. Pulling Penta from the title picture right away would defeat the purpose of protecting him with that loss.
3 – Penta reverses the Spear and wins the title
The boldest option would be a clean title change.
After failing to keep Penta down, Reigns could go for another Spear, only for Penta to reverse it into a Penta Driver and get the win.
Beating Reigns would put Penta among WWE’s top names. Reigns would have reason to chase a rematch, while Knight’s push for a shot could complicate the new champion’s first defense. That finish, though, would require the company to keep Penta featured once the celebration in Mexico wears off.
