Sammy Guevara’s future in AEW is once again in question after a fairly calculated change to his social media.
The former TNT Champion removed any mention of the company from his bio on X, then drew attention to the change with a short post: “New bio.” On Instagram, his bio now reads simply “World Champion, Husband, Father & Professional Wrestler.”
Despite the move, there is no confirmation that Guevara has left AEW or is about to. His name remains on the company’s official roster, where he is still listed as a member of La Facción Ingobernable.
The change comes just days after Guevara expressed frustration with how he has been used on television. Asked by MuscleManMalcolm when he would return to Dynamite, he said:
“Tell Tony. Honestly, man, that’s obviously not my call, but whatever they decide to call, like I think the last time I was on AEW I wrestled Darby for the world title. I was given a couple hours’ notice, and I just tried to do the best that I could, you know? Anytime I go out there, I try to give you a show like you’ve never seen before because that’s what I do. I’m Sammy Guevara, the Spanish God. I think I’m the best.”
Guevara has not wrestled on Dynamite since a January 7 loss to Bandido. His last appearance in an AEW ring, however, came on the June 6 episode of Collision, when he, RUSH and Dralistico fell to The Conglomeration in a match for the AEW World Trios Championship.
On June 26, Guevara and The Beast Mortos also dropped the ROH World Tag Team Championship to Mistico and Mascara Dorada, ending a 203-day reign.
