Samoa Joe still does not have a set date to end his career in the pro wrestling ring.
In a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, he commented on his priorities while he remains active in AEW.
In October 2025, Joe had said that he would probably retire at the end of his current contract with AEW. However, according to Fightful, his deal runs at least until 2027, without specifying when it will come to an end.
When talking about what he still intends to do before retirement, Joe said.
“I mean, really, just putting on meaningful, fun matches for the fans. I think trying to consistently give people something to tune in for and have a good time with. Listen, what my time frame is (for retirement) kind of still not quite nailed down, but I will say this. I want to leave as many good memories as I can while I have the opportunity, and I think that’s just kind of the best way to approach things right now.”
Despite already considering the end of his career, Joe remains involved in big matches in AEW. On Saturday, he will take part in the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.
The match will have eight participants, including current AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, with the AEW World Championship on the line. Joe secured his participation by defeating Jack Perry on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam France at the beginning of this month.
