Wardlow was backstage at AEW Double or Nothing, which took place this past Sunday, May 24, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York City.
According to PWInsider, the former AEW TNT Champion was at the pay-per-view venue, though he did not appear on camera during the broadcast.
Wardlow’s presence in New York had already been noted before the event by Fightful Select, which also reported that he had been attending several AEW shows while working toward an in-ring return.

Wardlow has not wrestled an official match since March 2024, when he faced Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship on the “Big Business” edition of Dynamite.
Even so, he did briefly return at Forbidden Door 2025, attacking Prince Nana and joining the Don Callis Family. Shortly afterward, he suffered another injury, which was later revealed to be a torn pectoral.
