Add as a preferred source on Google The Undertaker officially ended his in-ring career at WWE Survivor Series on November 22, 2020. It wasn’t until that night that the Deadman realized he might need to find something else to do outside the ring.
During a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, The Undertaker was asked when he first began thinking that his wrestling career was nearing its end.
“Unfortunately, way too late. I think it was November 22, 2020, when it dawned on me that you might need to find something else to do here.”
That date wasn’t a coincidence. His farewell took place exactly 30 years after his WWE debut at Survivor Series on November 22, 1990.
His final match, however, had taken place more than seven months earlier. At WrestleMania 36 on April 4, 2020, The Undertaker defeated AJ Styles in the first Boneyard Match in WWE history.
A few months later, during the final episode of The Last Ride documentary, he already indicated that he was at peace with the possibility of never competing again.
The Undertaker has remained involved in pro wrestling. In the same interview, he confirmed that he’s now considered AAA’s head of creative, working alongside Jeremy Borash to build a product different from what fans see on Raw, SmackDown and NXT.
