Mike Santana is no longer part of TNA’s plans, closing out one of the most important runs of his career with the company.

According to PWInsider, TNA sources confirmed that Santana is no longer planned for programming and will not be at this week’s iMPACT! tapings. His contract is also expected to expire in the coming days.

The exit comes shortly after Slammiversary, which took place this past Sunday in Boston, where Santana lost the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth in the main event. With help from Ryan Nemeth, “The Wanted Man” defeated Santana and began his second reign as world champion.

Santana had won the title in October 2025 at Bound For Glory by defeating Trick Williams, who was carrying the championship at the time while still part of NXT.

Santana officially returned to TNA in April 2024 at Rebellion, defeating Steve Maclin. His signing was confirmed a few days later.

In recent months, however, Santana’s future had become the subject of heavy speculation. Previous reports indicated that his contract was set to expire in July, while WWE had shown interest in signing him.
